During the early 1600's it was customary for the Lord of the Manor to give his bride a piece of silver as a wedding gift. This later was symbolically represented by a sixpence coin. That tradition of the sixpence as a symbol of good luck continues today. The expression something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a sixpence for your shoe still rings true with every bride.
This is a wonderful gift for any bride getting married in 2021. We purchased this coin directly from an estate in England and it is as perfect as it was the day it was minted one hundred years ago. We've mounted the sixpence in a frame of 14kt yellow gold, it will arrive on a stylish black 18" fashion cord necklace in a nice presentation box. A gift the bride can wear and cherish now and in the future. The pendant is .80" in diameter. Only one available.
